Summary
A wooden doll made from a clothes peg, depicting the young Queen Victoria, with painted facial features and brown wool hair. Her hands are made of stiffened pink jersey fabric. On her head she wears a crown made of red velvet and gold braid, edged with fur and decorated with coloured beads. She wears a white rayon dress with a gold and white lace hem, and white lace edging to her sleeves. Her bodice is decorated with gold thread and a purple fur-edged train is attached to her shoulders with gold coloured cords. Her left hand holds a gold coloured orb and her right hand a gold coloured sceptre with bead and jewel decoration. She wears an underskirt of vilene and pleated nylon fabric. The peg doll appears to be handmade.
