Summary
Two skin covered papier mache pull-along 'saddle horses' (1920s) of the 'platform and wheels' type. They were possibly made by the Germany company 'Bauer & Krause'', Leipzig, Germany. Manufactured from the late 19th century till the 1930s. Each standing on a wooden plinth with four revolving metal wheels (one wheel missing). Each horse is covered in stitched skin, now very worn. They have bristle tails. Each has a leather harness, and one has a leather saddle. Studs are attached to the base of the horse's hooves and these slot into holes in the plinth. One of the plinths has become detached 3. This feeding box is part of a set consisting of a stable, trolley, carriage and 5 horses - inventory number 665409.
