Summary
A 'Beadle' glove puppet (circa 1880). He has carved and painted wooden head, hands, lower legs and feet. He has carved and painted blonde hair and a black and yellow tricorn hat. He has painted blue eyes, pink cheeks, red mouth and white teeth. He has a flesh coloured painted face with a carved nose (paint loss on nose), flesh coloured painted hands, and black painted lower legs and feet. He is wearing a blue wool outfit consisting of a jacket and breeches sewn together as one, stained white lace cuffs and white lace trim to bottom edge of his blue wool breeches. A fabric panel decorated with blue and white zigzag pattern is sewn into the bottom of the front of his coat. This is partially hidden by his breeches. The neck and front of his jacket is decorated with gold coloured braid and two gold coloured pins.
