Summary
A sand weighted balancing gymnast made of pink and gold coloured card with jointed arms and legs (1870). His hands are threaded through a metal rod which is mounted in the centre of a wooden box standing vertically on one side. The box is decorated with coloured paper. At the centre top of the coloured paper decoration is a gold coloured paper royal coat of arms. A green paper label stuck to the inside of the bottom side of the box reads 'Leotard. To be turned twice to the right.' When turned the sand inside the box moves and consequently the gymnast revolves around the metal rod.
