Summary

A baby bouncer made by Mothercare, in its original box (circa 1982). The box (slightly torn) is printed in orange and brown on a white background, and features photographs of a baby using the bouncer and descriptions of its use in English, German and French. The main 'harness' piece is made from brown cotton, padded in the area which would go underneath the baby. There is a broad 'belt' threaded through near the top, made from a strong piece of broad elastic with cotton pieces at the ends, which fasten to the front of the harness with an assortment (three pairs each side) of large press-studs. Threaded through eyelet holes at the top of the harness are four white cords (one at each side of the back and front), which end in a large red plastic bead on the outside, and are all joined to a black rubber piece (with a long hole along most of its length) by means of metal 'dog lead' fasteners and a further metal fastener similar to the type used by climbers for ropes. Attached to the other end of the rubber piece is a length of silver-coloured metal chain. There is a white-painted metal cylindrical bar which has a white plastic cap on each end and a similar fitment in its centre. Each of these plastic pieces has a loop moulded on to it, for assembling the bouncer. There is also a silver-coloured metal spring with a hook at each end. Also in the box is a door clamp consisting of two bent, flat pieces of silver-coloured metal which pivot at one end, where they are joined to a long hook. Each has a blue plastic sleeve on the other end, which is bent outwards. There is also an instruction booklet printed in black and orange on a white background. Total number of items is 6.
