Summary
A toy washing machine made from metal with wooden rollers on the mangle. The main body of the machine (the water tank and stand) are painted grey, with a blue framework for the mangle, which has a red handle and a cream slope at its base for the drips to run back into the machine. The lid to the tank is painted blue, and has a red handle on the top which turns a blue-painted paddle below to agitate the water and clothes. A small amount of the paint has chipped off and the metal has started to rust. Also, the frame of the mangle is slightly bent. Total number of items is 2.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Miss Sarah Hosking in 1983.
