Summary
On display A model plastic 'E.T.' spaceship launcher (circa 1983). The body of the spaceship is spherical in shape and made of silver coloured plastic. It has a hinged circular lid. The lower half of the sphere and the four shaped feet which support it are made of green plastic. There is also a green plastic clip at the back of the spaceship. On the front wall is a hinged, curved flap which opens to reveal the interior of the spaceship. This is of silver coloured plastic with a black plastic sprung mechanism in the centre. Also inside the spaceship is a tiny beige plastic figure of E.T. standing on a rectangular base on metal castors. The sprung mechanism presumably expels the E.T. figure on castors out of the open flap of the spaceship. In storage Cardboard packaging (circa 1983) inscribed with 'E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL'. The plastic bubble with the toy, a 'spaceship launcher', is missing. The packaging has a photograph of space with E.T. and Elliott's hands. A smaller coloured illustration of the toy is inset. The reverse of the packaging has operating instructions and illustrations of other toys in the range. The price sticker is on the front inscribed with 'RATCLIFFES TOYERIES £4.35p.' This toy is E.T. merchandising associated with the feature film. The toy is for ages 3 and up. Total number of items is 3.
