A painted wooden hen with a hollow egg shaped body, with a hole in the top. It is painted grey with a feather pattern. It has an upright grey head with a red comb and yellow beak, grey feathered tail and yellow legs and feet. The wings, painted grey, are hinged and connected to the spring mechanism inside the body. When the body is pressed downwards the beak opens, the wings raise and it 'lays' a wooden egg. The wooden eggs are fed in by the hole on its beak and are unpainted wooden balls.
