Summary

Four model ‘Matchbox’ original boxes for cars. (circa 1974 to circa 1978). The first is a 'Matchbox No. 20, Police Patrol Rola-matics' original box. The red rectangular box has an illustration of a white police car on the top and bottom. The logo 'MATCHBOX' is printed in red inside a yellow rectangle with an orange border. This logo is repeated on all faces of the box. The words '20 POLICE PATROL Rola-matics' is printed in white and black along side the illustration. The same words and similar illustration appears on both ends. The second is a 'Matchbox No. 31, Caravan’ original box. The green rectangular box has an illustration of a white caravan on the top and bottom. The logo 'MATCHBOX' is printed in red inside a yellow rectangle with an orange border. This logo is repeated on all faces of the box. The words '31 CARAVAN' is printed in white along- side the illustration. The same words plus 'SUPERFAST' and similar illustration appears on both ends. On the sides of the box is more information. 'Matchbox' No.21 Renault 5TL. The third is an orange rectangular box with an illustration of a blue car on the top and bottom. The logo 'MATCHBOX' is printed in red inside a yellow rectangle with an orange and red border. This logo is repeated on all faces of the box. The words 'NEW 21 RENAULT 5TL' is printed in white and black along side the illustration. The same words plus 'SUPERFAST' and similar illustration appears on both ends. The fourth and final box is a 'Matchbox No.66 Ford Transit’. The blue rectangular box has an illustration of a red truck, loaded with two wooden grates, on the top and bottom. The logo 'MATCHBOX' is printed in red inside a yellow rectangle with an orange and red border. This logo is repeated on all faces of the box. The words 'NEW 66 FORD TRANSIT' is printed in white and black along side the illustration.
