Summary
A clown doll with a composition head which is painted with white shiny paint. The hair is painted black and the facial features are painted. The doll is smiling and has painted black dots on the cheeks, chin and forehead. The body is composition. The head and neck are on a cylindrical piece of wood which is attached to the body by a string, so that the head may be compressed into the body, but springs out on release. The body is possibly made of cardboard stuck on wood. The upper limbs are made of cloth stuffed with straw. The legs are made of wood and joined at the hips. They are painted to imitate white stockings and black shoes, the latter have stuck on small white pompoms. The doll wears a deep black ruff around the neck and shoulders. He wears an orange hip length jacket, with side seams, with three black pompoms down the front and black trim at the wrist of the full length sleeves and the bottom of the jacket. He wears, just below the knee, orange trousers with a black trim at the bottom.
