Summary
A toy 'Pets' 'Washing Set' for a child, with its original box. The box is made from cardboard and has a separate lid. The box and lid are very damaged and dirty with torn corners and pieces missing. The box is an orange colour and has a large colour printed label on the lid with the title 'Pets/ Washing Set' appearing at the top. Below the title is a colour illustration of two young girls playing with the items in the box, one is ironing and the other is pegging washing on a line. To the left is the text 'A BOX FULL OF JOY'. On the reverse of the lid is a black and white printed label which has a description in the centre relating the virtues of the toy as well as illustrations around the side of other 'Pets' Toys' which can be purchased. The box inside is divided into nine separate compartment into which the items sit. Some of the items are missing. The box contains the following items - 1) A wooden mangle with metal handle which turns the rollers, 2) An rusty iron trivet, 3) A round wooden tub, 4) A wooden clothes horse 5) A set of ten clothes pegs clipped onto a piece of card, 6) A rectangular piece of wood, 7) An oval basket with a small handle at each end, and 8) A black metal doll's size flat iron and trivet. It is possible that 2 items are missing from the box. Total number of items is 18.
