Summary
A rectangular piece of cream cardboard on which is stuck another piece of cardboard printed to look like red curtains with a golden yellow fringe. There are fifteen theatrical figures all printed on paper glued to cardboard. Ten of the figures are then glued on to long strips of cardboard, (the remaining five have become detached from their cardboard strips) for use in a toy theatre. There are two figures joined together, each has a long nose, sad face, and is wearing a long cream-grey gown, the larger one with a hood, the smaller one with a conical hat. The other 8 figures are a man with a large head wearing a conical hat, a ruff and red and yellow outfit; a laughing man wearing a hat with three red balls on it; a hunchbacked figure whose head is mostly missing; a figure with a pointed nose, eyes shut and could be lying down; a figure holding a hat in one hand and bowing; a black figure wearing a red, white and blue striped hat; two figures each with a conical hat and red jacket each holding a brown stick; a figure in profile, grinning, wearing a conical hat and red jacket; a figure wearing spectacles holding a bottle; a figure in a blue jacket and black breeches; a figure in a green jacket and grey trousers; a figure dressed as an army officer with a scabbard attached to his belt; another figure wearing a white conical hat, green jacket and red breeches. (The latter two are brighter in colour than the others and may not be part of this set). Some of the figures are torn and three have bits missing. There is also a cardboard gallows with a string noose. There are several additional pieces of rectangular cardboard. Total number of items is 22.
