Summary
A Japanese paper kite shaped and decorated to look like a carp. It is made out of a tube of paper, sealed at the mouth end and open at the tail end. It has black, grey and white printed scales; red, yellow, green and gold coloured eyes; a yellow mouth and two yellow fins. This formed part of 'Tango no Sekku' a designated national holiday known as 'Golden week' where thousands of these elaborate kites of various sizes would be flown 5th May, the last day 'Golden Week' became 'Children's Day'
