Summary
A pull-along 'platform and wheels' type toy horse and trap (1920s), possibly made by the 'Thuringian Toy Company', Germany. A cream coloured horse covered in skin with black painted wooden hooves (the left front leg is raised) stands upon a wooden plinth supported by four revolving metal wheels, also painted black. The horse has a light brown real hair mane and tail. It has red felt blinkers; a metal bit in its mouth; a brown leather bridle and harness. The harness is attached to the wooden trap which has long handles painted yellow and black and two large, revolving, metal wheels. The inner rims and spokes are painted yellow and black. Hanging down from the frame of the trap are two black metal foot plates on the left side of the trap. The trap itself is made of varnished wood with a wooden seat which has come unstuck and is removable. Above each wheel is a narrow ledge on the front of which is a square, black lantern. A black painted metal chain unhooks and allows the hinged tail plate to be let down at the back of the trap. The floor of the trap is lined with paper with an imitation tile pattern. Total number of items is 3.
