Summary
A battledore, used in an early form of badminton, which consists of a double sided pear shaped head with a skin stretched taut over the frame (1900). The edge of the frame has an edging of pale brown tooled leather and a triangle of leather at the base of the bat. The wooden handle is covered in the same leather and tooled with a design. There is a piece of metal at the end of the handle which probably goes up through the handle.
