Summary
A battledore paddle used to play an early form of badminton. It consists of a double sided pear shaped head which has a skin stretched taut. The sides have light brown tooled leather edging which extends onto the face, with a triangular piece of leather at the base of the head. The wooden handle is covered in the same leather with the tooled design which has signs gold leaf. There is a metal stud at the base of the handle which probably goes up through the handle.
