Summary
A brightly-coloured, metal, child's seaside bucket (circa 1955). On the outside is a continuous seaside scene including boats, a castle, a teashop, children and an old sailor, seagulls, etc, all brightly coloured with a red border at the base. The inside is decorated with fish, seaweed, crabs, shells, etc in turquoise on a paler turquoise background. The base is red on the outside and turquoise on the inside and has a yacht embossed which would form a moulded shape when the sand is turned out. The handle is yellow and red striped with a turquoise back which is bent over the striped side for comfort when held. The handle is joined to the bucket with metal rivets (slightly rusty, as is the rim in places).
Marks and inscriptions
Along the top edge of the base border: 'MADE IN ENGLAND CHAD VALLEY' On the base, curved to follow the shape of the base: 'MADE IN ENGLAND'
