Summary
Part of one of the puppets made for and used by the ‘Lilliput Marionette Theatre’. The lower part of a right leg and its foot. The ankle joint is formed by means of a piece of thick metal wire acting as a pivot, and what remains of a similar joint at the knee has broken at the hole needed for the metal wire. The wood is carved but not painted. A piece of metal has been inserted to reinforce the heel - this has been nailed on. There is a large red stain (possibly ink) on the sole of the foot.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr E Hellawell in 1982.
