Summary
A 1970s or 1980s jointed plastic 'Six Million Dollar Man' doll with clothes. The American TV series 'Six Million Dollar Man' was orginally broadcast between 1974 and 1978. The doll has jointed arms, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees and ankles. It is made from flesh-coloured plastic and has moulded light brown plastic hair on the head, and moulded red underpants on with circuit board patterning on the waistband. It is dressed in removable clothing. A bottle green hooded duffle coat made of felted cotton with patch pockets and beige toggle beads sewn on as buttons. It fastens at the front with two metal popper fasteners, however, one part is missing from the neck fastener. It has a label sewn into the inside of the neck that reads 'Palitoy Action mane Made in Hong Kong'. Red jogging bottoms made of cotton jersey with elasticated waist and ankles. These are threadbare in parts and have a dark ink stain at the knee. A pair of red and white plastic trainers with moulded laces and tread on the soles. On the doll's back is a red plastic push-switch, when pressed this should activate his bionic right arm and lift the 'engine block' that came with the toy. On this model the button no longer works. One of the eyes is a hole with a clear plastic lens in it. You can look through a small hole in the back of the head through this lens - this is his 'bionic eye'. On his right upper arm is a clear plastic panel through which you can see a yellow circuit board sticker. There is also a cut-out shape in his lower right arm where a similar sticker and panel should be.
