Summary
A replica classic 1920's Steiff teddy bear with light brown mohair and a hump at the bottom of his neck. He has a black sewn nose and mouth and brown plastic eyes with black pupils. On his left ear is a gold Steiff button and dark yellow label. His four paws have black stitching in place of fingers and toes and underneath they have very light brown felt pads. His four limbs are jointed to his torso and he is solidly stuffed. He has a cream-coloured circular label attached to his chest stating: '1920 Classic Teddybear - Original Steiff - Knopf im Ohr. Made in Germany - Genuine Mohair.'
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr David Hall in 2010. From a collection of soft toys collected by the donor's late wife Jane between 1975 - 2005.

Front of the label attached to the ear: 'Made in Germany by [Steiff teddybear emblem in place - a teddybears head with banner coming off it] Steiff / KNOPF IM OHR / 000751' Back of the label attached to the ear: 'All new / Material / PA55 / MASS 73 / CE / Covering: / 70% wool / 30% cotton'.
