This yacht was one of the last to be made, as the company closed that same year.
Summary
A toy sailing yacht made by Star Yachts in Birkenhead. The body of the yacht is made of wood and painted yellow with a red stripe around the edges the top surface of the body has the company sticker with the emblem of a star and a slogan for the yacht. Underneath the body is a large red-painted metal keel. Above the body is wooden and string rigging attached with metal fastenings and red cotton sails. The main sail has a black star printed on it with 'STAR' written in red and 'SY / 3' in black below. A red painted wooden stand accompanies the yacht, triangular shaped, with a slit to hold the keel. The yacht is in a new condition.

Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr Francis Deyne in December 2009.
Marks and inscriptions
On the hull of the boat: A circular design in red, black and gold reading 'STAR YACHT / GUARENTEED TO SAIL / BIRKENHEAD / MADE IN ENGLAND' and the emblem of a star.
