Summary
A box containing three different games. The lid of the box bears the name of one of the games ; ‘New Game Switchum’, and depicts a policeman chasing a young boy down a street (circa 1893). The boy's blue hat has blown off his head. In the bottom right hand corner are two monkeys sitting on a box which reads: BUY A SWITCHUM SPRING HEEL JACK AFTERMA 1/- EACH.’ The box contains three wooden 'bats' with cardboard cylinders enclosing the numbers 5 10 15 20. At the end of the wooden 'bat' is a semi circular piece of wire. One of the card cylinders is partially broken and detached from the bat. There are 22 red, white, blue and yellow bone or ivory counters. A set of rules for the games Switchum, Afterma and Spring Heeled Jack, is also included. Total number of items is 30.
