Summary
A card of Mothercare 'Lock-Safe' nappy pins which originally held six but only three remain (circa 1980). Each pin is a curved, silver-coloured metal safety pin with a white-painted, metal cover over the fastening end which slides across to allow the pin to be opened and slides back to keep the pin closed safely. The card is printed in white and black on a bright pink background on the front and reads 'Mothercare Lock-Safe Nappy Pin Carefully Made in Great Britain 34p' and shows a large diagram of how the pins open and close. The back of the card is printed in black on a white background and has a description in English, German and French, 'Do not strain pin by opening too far' in all three languages, and a set of diagrams. It has six sets of two slots for holding the pins in place. Total number of items is 4.
