Summary
A child's glazed and moulded china plate with a painted transfer image of a standing girl in a red dress, and a seated boy, reading, wearing blue trousers. Above and beneath the image of the children in the garden are two lines of verse. The rim of the plate is decorated with three rows of moulded flowers.
Marks and inscriptions
Centre of the plate: 'The tulip and the butterfly/ Appear in gayer coats than I./ Let me dress'd fine as I will./ Flies worms and flowers exceed me still.'
