Summary
A wooden jigsaw puzzle, in it's original box, showing a picture of the liner 'Queen Mary' in colour. The image has been printed onto paper and glued on. Two of the pieces are broken where the picture and some of the wood has come away from the base. In the picture are several other boats (tugs etc) and a seaplane flying overhead. Also in the box is a sheet of white paper printed in black with information about 'The Cunard-White-Star Liner, Queen Mary'. The box is made from cardboard, covered on the sides and lid in pale blue check-patterned paper. The box lid is broken at one corner. On the lid is a large label (slightly spotted) showing the finished picture, with the words 'Victory Jig-saw Puzzle of the 534 Cunard White Star Liner Queen Mary' printed in blue. On the side of the lid is another label which reads 'Victory Jig-saw Puzzle, No. S. 534. About 80 Wood pieces. Cunard Liner. Queen Mary' printed in red. There are the remains of red paper seals printed in black on one side of the lid and both sides of the bottom of the box (i.e. half on each). The intact (i.e. in two halves) one reads 'The Victory Jig Saw Puzzle, See that this seal is unbroken'. Total number of items is 83.
