Summary
A dissected map entitled 'Eslick's Patent Dissected Map of Palestine' with its original cardboard box. Printed in colour on paper pasted on wood is a map of Palestine 'according to its ancient divisions'. The large map 'shows the division of the Holy Land during the New Testament period'. In the bottom right hand corner is a small map entitled 'Sketch to show the division of Palestine among the Tribes'. One piece of the map is missing. The lid of the box has a red floral border. Near the top is the kneeling figure of Atlas with the world on his shoulders. There is a royal coat of arms just below the centre and beneath this a semi-circle showing two girls and a boy playing with the map on the floor in front of a fireplace. A globe and rolled up maps are on the right. Beneath the semi-circle is pasted some colour printed paper leaves. Printed on the lid of the box is a description of the product, along with patent details. Total number of items is 15.
