Summary
Photocopies of letters, cards and photographs relating to WWII. There are photocopies of ten airgraph letters on three stapled sheets of paper. The letters are from LAC Austin to his wife and his children, Colin and Yvonne and replies from Colin and Yvonne. Two of the letters are dated Christmas 1944. There is a single photocopied sheet of two greetings cards. The originals had embroidered pictures and words. One reads 'Good news from France', the other 'To my dear Children'. There is a photocopy of two National Registration cards. One issued to Colin Austin (CILC 377), the other to Yvonne Austin (DFSN 162 3), with their address. Each was signed and dated by 'Y. Austin, May 22nd 1940'. There are two sheets of paper, each with two photocopies of two photographs of children. On one sheet is written 'With Best Wishes for a very happy Christmas to all, Floss, Alan and Yvonne xxxx'. Beside this is a photograph of a woman holding a small child dressed in a light coloured jacket, bootees and a hat. Below the inscription is a photograph of two small children, each wearing overcoats and hats. Behind them are flowers and trees. On the other sheet of paper is a photocopy of two photographs. One of a little girl wearing a light coloured dress, socks and shoes, and holding something in her right hand. The other one of a seated little boy wearing a check shirt with short sleeves and dark coloured shorts. In his left hand he holds a ball. Accompanying these four photocopied photographs is a note which reads as follows 'Mrs Yvonne Dockree (her address). Father recalls - Allowed one tin mug water per day; frightened natives by rattling false teeth. Father's return further unsettled the family, Mother having taken full responsibility during war Period'. Total number of items is 5.
