Summary
A nylon kite in its original nylon bag. All the nylon has a squared effect in its weave. The kite is the classic diamond shape. The design is of three 'Gothic' window shapes, a small blue and white one each side, with a large red, orange, yellow, blue and white one in the centre. A piece of wooden dowelling is held in place in the centre, vertically, by means of a small pocket on the upper and lower points of the diamond. The kite is also held to this dowelling by white nylon cord threaded through eyelet holes near the top point and approximately a quarter of the distance from the top point, tied together at the back and ending in a silver-coloured metal ring. Attached to each of the outside points of the kite is a narrow rectangular loop of black nylon which has a D-shaped silver-coloured metal ring at the end. Tied to one of these and threaded through the other is a length of white nylon cord, the other end of which is tied to a metal cord-securing piece. Dark blue tape is stitched along all the edges of the kite and in two lengths just above the lower set of eyelets, which are tied round the dowelling. Also tied to the dowelling is a length of nylon thread which has a silver-coloured 'eye' type screw dangling from it. There is another length of dowelling in the bag. The bag is long, pale blue, and has brown ribbon ties at its open end. Sewn to the bag near to the top is a label made from the same fabric which reads 'Monday Lunch Kites, then a drawing of a kite on a plate between a knife and fork, and 'Medium Eddy Tryptych'. At the top edge is stapled a yellow paper price label which reads 'The Kite Store'. Total number of items is 3.
