Summary
A set of 'clackers' (circa 1965 to circa 1975) - two blue plastic balls with moulded loops in the tops, fastened to each of which is one end of a length of red and yellow twisted cotton cord which has a blue plastic tag tied into the centre. The tag has straight sides and rounded ends - one end has a large circular hole through which the string is knotted. To play with the toy you hold the tag with the balls suspended below. Then, by agitating the tag, cause the balls to bang against each other to such a point where they would swing up at the sides to hit each other at the top, and keep going.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mrs S. H. Giles in June 2007.
