Summary
A toy 'Petite' typewriter - Junior De Luxe (circa 1975), made from turquoise plastic with white plastic keys, with its original carrying case. It is just like a 'real' typewriter, i.e. the letters, printed in black, on the keyboard are arranged in the same way. The 'roller' (platen), which the paper is held against is black, the knobs which rotate this are white and black, and the semicircular piece at the front of the housing for the metal 'printing' arms is also white. The ribbon is black. The (very battered) case resembles a small suitcase (with stitching round the edges). It appears to be made from cardboard, with the outside covered in grey textured paper imitating leather and the inside covered in paper printed in black and white in a hound’s-tooth check pattern. The clasp and hinges are metal (rusty), there is a metal reinforcing strip round each open edge and a plastic reinforcing strip round the other (stitched) edges. The handle is black plastic, and has a rusty key attached with a length of string. Printed in brown on a corner of the lid is 'Petite'. Inside the case, attached to the sides, are four white plastic 'sucker' type pieces which help to stop the typewriter banging against the sides whilst being carried. Total number of items is 2.
