Summary
A pair of metal roller skates of the type that are fastened round a child's own shoes (circa 1960-1969). The fastenings are made from red plastic and consist of ankle straps with buckles (one of these is broken) and laced pieces at the front. The laces are very dirty white. The wheels are made from a hard black substance (possibly plastic) which is difficult to identify. The skates' size can be adjusted by means of slackening off a nut and bolt on the underside and sliding the two halves of the skate either together or apart. Total number of items is 2.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mrs Christine Brumbill in September 2006.
