Summary
A Good Companion 'Wharfedale teddy' who is covered in sandy brown fur fabric. He has brown safety eyes, embroidered nose and mouth (in brown thread) and brown suede pads on his paws (these have claws embroidered in brown thread). He has quite a pronounced 'hump' at the top of his back. Tied in a large bow round his neck is a piece of broad olive green ribbon. Stitched into the seam at the back of his right foot is a cream ribbon label printed in brown giving the manufacturers' name and address and 'Big Softies'. Tied with white thread to his ribbon is a large white card label printed in black with care instructions in English, French and German.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood in 2006 by Dyan Humphrey, whose mother wished to find homes for some of her large collection of bears.
