Summary
A ‘Merrythought’ bear (circa 1980 to circa 1990) who is covered in light brown-grey fur fabric. He has brown safety eyes, embroidered nose and mouth (in brown thread) and white fur fabric pads on his paws. He has a slight 'hump' at the top of his back. Tied in a large bow round his neck is a piece of broad ribbon printed in a swirly yellow, pink and brown pattern Sewn to the base of his right foot is a yellow ribbon label giving the manufacturers' name and address. Stitched into his right side seam are two ribbon labels giving care instructions and safety credentials - one is cream and printed in brown in English, the other is white and printed in black in French. Total number of items is 2.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood in 2006 by Dyan Humphrey, whose mother wished to find homes for some of her large collection of bears.
