Summary
A child's bicycle with detachable stabilisers. It is painted in metallic turquoise paint and has a cream seat, chain guard, pedals and handlebars. The small wheels are made from black rubber. The stabiliser wheels are cream plastic with black rubber tyres. Near to the bicycle's right-hand handlebar is a silver-coloured metal bell which has an image of a crown impressed in the top. On each side of the main frame is the word 'Cherokee', in red and yellow, transfer-printed. On another transfer on the front of the frame is the manufacturer's name ‘Raleigh’, address and insignia. On the chain guard is a brightly-coloured sticker featuring the word 'Raleigh' and a cartoon of a stereotypical representation of a Native American girl dressed in red in front of a yellow tipi. Although the model of the bike is 'Cherokee', the representation is of a generic ‘American Indian’ stereotype that does not reflect the Cherokee peoples, who do not traditionally use tipis. Total number of items is 3.
