Summary
A wax shoulder-head doll possibly made by Lucy Peck. She has a wax head and shoulders. The face has painted and moulded features. She has fixed grey-blue china eyes. She has a long fair hair wig, possibly real hair. She has a stuffed fabric body. The tops of the arms and the tops of the legs are fabric. The arms from just above the elbows are composition and the legs below the knees are composition. She is wearing a long white dress. This dress has a bodice which fastens at the back. There is a broderie anglaise panel at the front with a vertical frill on either side. There are three quarter sleeves that have lace at the wrist and are gathered at the elbow. The long skirt has a broderie anglaise trimmed front panel which has horizontal tucks. There is a broderie anglaise trim at the hem. This skirt is frail and torn and has been mended. Beneath this she has a cotton petticoat trimmed with lace, a flannel petticoat and a gauze petticoat. She has long white pantaloons that have tucks and a broderie anglaise trim. She has knitted cotton socks. Her hat is made of straw. The outside has pale blue ostrich feathers all round the brim and a bunch of artificial forget-me-nots. The inside of the hat is lined with pale blue fabric on the brim and white in the crown. Total number of items is 2.
