Summary
A toy theatre in its original box. The theatre is made of cardboard and covered with coloured paper. It consists of: the proscenium arch for the stage; a backdrop for the kitchen scene and two flies; and a backdrop for the ball scene with two flies. The characters are all made from cardboard covered with coloured paper. There are three un-mounted characters: Cinderella in a ball gown; the Prince; and a herald holding the slipper (not on display). There are two pieces of scenery: a sergeant at Arms and a kitchen barrel etc. There is one unattached wooden rod for manoeuvring the characters. There are five rods with characters attached to them: Cinderella in rags seated; Cinderella in rags standing; the ugly sisters; and Buttons and the Coach (not on display). The box is made of cardboard with a separate lid, on which is a coloured picture of the theatre stage with some of the characters on it and 'Cinderella' written across the top of the stage. To the left at the top is written 'Palace Theatre' in a white circle. The bottom of the box is plain. Total number of items is 20.
