Summary
A white plastic music centre or stereogram for a 'Sindy' doll (circa 1973). This has a white plastic base on four white plastic legs. The full length hinged lid is in clear hard plastic. Eight black vertical stripes decorate either side of the front of the base with an embossed 'S' between them. The music centre deck has a black record turntable with a white plastic fixed arm. Centrally raised on a raised deck are three black plastic round control switches. The bottom one turns to show from 5 to 18 on a single red outlined dial. The central one turns from off to on and the top one has an increasing arc around it, possibly for volume. The tape deck has a lifting slot for the tape and three black control buttons. The central one has a white arrow on it and moves back and forth. There is a deep slot for records and a small slot for tapes. Underneath is a compartment for a battery with red and black wires and a circular perforated sound outlet. A white label has 'Item No, INSP, Unitoys Co Ltd, Passed' on it. 'Made in Hong Kong' is stamped on the base. This item is a working radio. There are three plastic 'tapes', one red, one blue, one yellow, all embossed with 'S'. Three black plastic records have a central hole surrounded in red. They are in individual paper sleeves. On the sleeves is an illustration of a girl's head with red music notes and 'The Best of Sindy' in red. Stock number 44545. Total number of items is 10. Bought in 1973 for the donor's daughter (Sally) when she was age 4 or 5.
