Summary
A plastic battery powered toy of the Apollo Lunar Module and original packaging. (circa 1969). The plastic base is bronze coloured and eight sided with simulated extending legs on each of the four short sides. Underneath there are three red sets of black wheels, the two single wheels are fixed, the double wheel swivels. Also on the underside of the base is the opening flap for the battery compartment. The many faceted white module has three clear red plastic lights, four silver coloured attachments and silver coloured plastic revolving twin satellite dishes. This section carries three paper labels carrying the inscription ‘N.A.S.A’. A spring loaded hatch opens to create a ramp for descent or entry for a fixed figure of the silver coloured astronaut. The original cardboard colour printed packaging (currently in store) is in three pieces. The inner three sided portion is coloured black and has three holes in the base and is badly damaged. The outer box is in two pieces, the damaged piece that is separate carries the inscription ‘Apollo Lunar Module’ the remaining sides carry similar inscriptions and illustrations. Total number of items is 3.
