Summary
Two dolls. The first doll is a 1960s moulded vinyl plastic 'Rosebud' doll with a swivelling head and jointed limbs, strung together inside by means of pieces of elastic joining metal loops in the ends of the arms and legs. Her legs are not orginal to the doll. She has painted facial features, open-and-shut blue eyes (with the remnants of brown nylon eyelashes - the right eye is slightly damaged) and long, blonde, wavy, rooted nylon hair. There is green paint on her left arm and there are pieces of sticking plaster around the top edges of the legs. Her dress is not orginal to the doll and and is homemade. She is wearing a blue, turquoise, pink, white and yellow striped nylon dress which has frills at the neck and lower edge, a dropped waist and sash in the same fabric around the middle. Underneath is a petticoat made from cream-coloured man-made fabric with a nylon border which has a blue, pink and yellow floral pattern and a scalloped edge. Beneath these are a cream-coloured knitted vest and drawers in the same fabric as the petticoat. She has a bow made from the same fabric as the dress in the back of her hair, and she is barefoot. The second doll is a 'Tinkerbell' doll (name given in the letter from the donor). It is a fur-fabric, stuffed toy with a ball-shaped base, with two feet at the front edge, a body piece at the top with an arm at each side, and a round head with a turned-back bonnet brim around a cracked plastic face, which is moulded and has painted features. There is a piece of very dirty pink ribbon around its neck. The fur fabric is also quite dirty, but appears to have been originally mainly pale blue with pink hands, feet and body. Total number of items is 2.
