Summary

A 1930s maroon metal doll's pram made by Lines Bros - brand name 'Triang'. Maroon painted fabric folding hood and matching painted fabric apron of which one of the loops is missing. Both the hood and the apron are lined with a cream painted fabric. The body of the pram is decorated with white trim and it hangs from adjustable leather strap and rope repairs on a metal frame. One strap is broken the other two are detached. There are six pieces of leather straps and buckles loose in the bottom of the pram. Attached to the bottom of the metal frame are two pairs of metal axles each supporting two pairs of spoked metal wheels. Each wheel has a maroon metal mud guard and a white rubber tyre. The silver coloured, hoop shaped handle is partially covered with a very badly cracked plastic or rubber 'sleeve' which is now largely missing. Attached to the back of the pram, via an adjustable leather strap and a piece of green tape, is a semi-circular shaped, woven wicker cane basket. The interior of the pram is lined with a creamy-yellow vinyl riveted in place. The base of the pram has a removable panel which creates a foot-well. There are two leather restraining straps attached to the inside of the pram. Total number of items is 9.

Provenance

Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mrs B. Davies in November 1989.
