Summary
A school cap, from Denstone College, made up of six alternate segments of black and dark red velvet, outlined in gold-coloured braid. There is a piece of broader braid around the edge, and two narrow bands around the edge of the stiff peak, which is black on top and dark red underneath. The main piece of the cap is lined with black cotton. In the centre of this lining is a faded trade mark: the name 'Christys' is visible. The top of the cap is decorated with more gold braid with a large button at the crown, '1905-6' on the peak, 1906-7' on the first black segment to the right, '1907-8' on the first black segment to the left, and on the centre (dark red) segment is a shield shape in red and gold alternating patterns. The braid is very dull.
