Summary
A doll's size armchair made of large round seeds, pierced and threaded on lengths of wire, joined to create an armchair or throne (circa 1870). Attached is a tapestry cushion with a floral pattern. The chair has an African feel to it. The beads/seeds have caused mildew, where each seed has been pierced. The seat of the chair is a piece of card; this and the seeds have perhaps been varnished.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mrs R. Drummond-Jackson in October 1979.
