Summary
One of the puppets made for and used by the ‘Lilliput Marionette Theatre’. A marionette of a male figure, without his control, dressed in a string vest, knee length corduroy trousers and a red and black cut away short jacket. The head has a large knotted handkerchief hat. The face has heavy eyebrows, protruding eyes, and high pointed nose with distended nostrils and a gaping mouth. The bottom lip has disappeared and there is no chin. The black leather boots are only ankle length and have large cuffs. The body is fully articulated and still has attached some of the nylon fishing line control mechanism. All body parts and clothing show signs of serious damage caused by wear and usage.
Provenance
Donated to the Museum of Childhood by Mr E Hellawell in 1982.
