One of the puppets made for and used by the ‘Lilliput Marionette Theatre’. This marionette has been identified as a 'dalmatian dog' and is from a play entitled 'Faust'. A marionette puppet dog with its control, and a spare bar of wood with two notches in it. The dog is made of wood covered in moulded plaster and painted white with black spots like a dalmatian. His mouth opens to reveal a red leather tongue and the inner mouth is painted red. He has brown leather ears and his nose and eyes are painted black. His four paws are painted grey and black. He is jointed at the neck, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle. His nylon fishing line strings are attached to a heavy wooden control. A modern white cord is threaded through metal loops around his body.
