Summary
One of the puppets made for and used by the ‘Lilliput Marionette Theatre’. This marionette was identified as a 'male character' and is from a play entitled 'A Christmas Carol' and is with a control. The figure is dressed in a green shin length coat secured at the waist and decorated with red frogging. Under the coat he wears a two coloured velvet waistcoat, a striped shirt with high collar, glass button and a red velvet neck band with a simulated pearl fastener. He is holding a brown paper parcel; in that it is tied to his left hand with red string. The figure has an amiable smiling face, painted nose, high level eyebrows and a diminishing hairline. The limbs are fully articulated and on the left wrist a parcel is attached below the fur cuff. The legs are clothed in a blue check, the feet are painted white with black converging lines and are further covered by leather/card to simulate a shoe, with lead plates on the heels. The figure and clothing show signs of damage caused by wear and usage. Total number of items is 2.
