Summary
One of the puppets made for and used by the ‘Lilliput Marionette Theatre’. This marionette has been identified as a 'red devil' and is from a play entitled 'Faust'. He has a control. He is made of wood and painted red with a carved wooden face with open mouth, pointed nose and white painted eyes with black painted lids. He has red painted leather ears. A red painted mesh covers his neck join. He has a protruding stomach with a central hole for his tummy button. His legs have round wooden pivoting joints with metal hoofs. His modelling material hands have a red painted mesh covering at the wrists. A red painted string tail is attached to his back. Lengths of thin black string and fishing line are attached to a single wooden bar.
