Summary
A Meccano set (circa 1935), containing numerous pieces of different shapes, colours and sizes in a red and yellow cardboard box. The lid is detached but retained. A label on the box lid shows three boys examining a Meccano model crane supported on a square structure with wheels on tracks. Printed above this picture are the words 'Meccano, Engineering for Boys'. Someone has added in handwriting 'and Girls'. There are removable yellow trays inside the box. Some of the pieces are fixed to these trays. There are two small metal tins, each with removable lids. Each lid has a torn paper label with the word 'Meccano' printed above a silhouette of a boy and Tower Bridge. The tins, but not their contents of nuts, bolts and collars, have been counted. Total number of items is 152.
