Summary
A money box made for the Midland Bank Limited, in the form of a closed book, bound in blue leather. On the front 'cover' is a shield, with the words 'Midland Bank Limited' above it and 'Vis Unita Fortior' along a ribbon shape below, all embossed in gold. On the 'spine' is the 'title' 'Savings Made Simple' at the top and a monogram of the letters M, B and L at the bottom, all also embossed in gold. There are also three long notches embossed between the two areas of writing. The box is made of gold-coloured metal (possibly brass), which is visible as the 'pages' of the 'book'. In the middle of the long edge is the coin slot which has two sets of three metal teeth inside it, and near the spine in the bottom edge is a circular hole labelled 'For Notes', with a keyhole further along. '0126614' (the account number) is embossed on the metal edge of the money box. It does not have a key with it.
