Summary
A 1960s Peggy Nisbet plastic doll dressed in modern highland costume and from 'Scottish Historic Costumes and National Dress' or 'British traditional Costumes' series. The company produced national costume dolls from the late 1950s to 1982. He has moulded and painted facial features, brown painted hair, and moveable arms. He wears a high-necked, long-sleeved, blue, velvet, short jacket with a white lace jabot and cuffs. This has a double front with two rows of small grey beads to fasten it. He has a black leather belt with a silver buckle. He has a red, green and blue tartan kilt with a white fur sporran on a silver base and red belt. Beneath his kilt he has tartan pants and knee length tartan socks with flat black leather shoes. He stands on an oval silver metal stand with a spring across his feet. Over his right arm he carries a folded card which reads 'Collectors Costume Dolls by Peggy Nisbet, Made in Scotland' in white on red. Inside in black on cream it reads 'Scottish Traditional Costumes and National Dress, BR 324, Modern Highland Dress, Evening Wear (Gentleman)'.
