Summary
A 1960s plastic Peggy Nisbet costume doll dressed as a Pearly Queen from her 'British Traditional Costumes' series. Series number BR.315. The company produced national costume dolls from the late 1950s to 1982. Her face has moulded and painted facial features and she has blonde curly hair. On her head she wears a black velvet hat, which bends down over her forehead, and is decorated with two red feathers, attached to which are five pearly sequins. She wears a long black velvet jacket and a skirt. The front of the jacket is liberally covered with pearl sequins and has three rows round the back, and the skirt has three rows round the hem. She has a lace edged white cotton petticoat. Her feet have black painted shoes. There is a metal stand with a spring to which the doll can be attached. A label attached to the doll states 'British Traditional Costumes, BR/315, Pearly Queen.' and 'Collectors Costume Dolls by Peggy Nisbet, Made in England. Total number of items is 2.
